That's Just Dumb

Environmentalism aside, the David Suzuki Foundation has nothing better to do than complain about ice resurfacing machines. Come on ... First off, they suggest going to natural gas ... OK I can agree with that one, but to suggest electric shows that the end is not of a concern.

An electric zamboni would run on what ... electricity. Where would that electricity come from? Of course the power grid. Now how does the power grid get supplied ... OK there are some wind based generators, some nuclear generators, hydro electric dams and Coal fired plants.

Beyond that, the zamboni stores it's electricity how? I would assume in batteries. Do those batteries need to get replaced? I would think so. When they are replaced where do the old batteries go? What is the real eco-footprint of what "Environmentalists" suggest?
